Less than 2 hours drive from Johannesburg or 120km from Pretoria or Polokwane you can experience this peaceful bushveld country side and sit on the deck of the lapa overlooking the dam in this malaria free area and enjoy the big variety of birdlife. Impala, Blou wilde beest, Kudu, Blesbok, Zebra, Giraffe and Osteriches graze the veld surrounding the accommodation and quench their thirst in the dam or river.

Karibu River Retreat is adjacent to unlimited kilometers of bushroads & tracks suitable for quadbike riding as well as 2 wheelers and side by sides.
We offer to take our guests on a guided family outride to show them the environment, bushroads and tracks that are accessible for riding.
Outrides vary in distance according to the requirements of our guests. (The weather can be a determining factor.)
One of our favourite routes is +/- 160km. This takes about 4 - 6 hours to complete. A more technical 100km outride takes about 4 hours to complete. Routes are varied to keep it interesting!
